In conditions of acting financial sanctions applied against Russia it is necessary for Armenia and Russia organize gas payments in Russian national currency, Sergey Glazev, consultant to Russian president, said at a news conference in Yerevan.
“Russia cannot afford usage of US dollars in payments with Armenia and other EAEU member states. Dollar has become a poisonous currency. The usage of dollars in our relations may have serious political risks,” he said.
Glazev said that the time for transition to national currency payments is agreed with contract obligations and _expression_ of kind will by the partners.
“They [member states] may review the obligations set by the agreements and change both the payment currency and review pricing terms,” he said.
