Taiwan ICT industry leaders will arrive in Armenia in 2019

ICT industry leaders from Taiwan will arrive in Armenia in February and March of 2019, President of the Union of Information Technology Enterprises Aleksandr Yesayan said at the 6th annual Business Innovation Forum in Dilijan.

The business innovation forum is attended by leading Armenian economy, scientific-educational, technology companies, government representatives and international experts.

According to Yesayan, experts who successfully created Taiwan’s IT industry development concept back in 1985 will also be involved in the delegation.

The Business Innovation Forum is has been arranged by the UITE since 2013 under the high patronage of the Prime Minister of Armenia. For over 3 years, the general partner of the Business Innovation Forum has been the Support to SME Development in Armenia program.

Industrial complex to be built in Armenia

With the support of Business Armenia, Russian “Ecotechprom” LLC will build an industrial complex in Armenia with investments of $285-340 million, Business Armenia press office informed. The Memorandum of Understanding on investments and after-care investment services was signed today, in the presence of acting Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan, acting Minister of Economic Development and Investments Tigran Khachatryan. The document has been signed by the acting CEO of Business Armenia Mr. Armen Avak Avakian and CEO of Ecotechprom LLC Mr. Sergey Sopin.

The industrial complex will occupy about 100 hectares of land and will consist of 3 plants for sodium chloride and industrial salt, sodium carbonate, glass manufacturing. About 1100 jobs will be created. According to the business plan, the project work will be completed in

December 2019 and the construction of industrial complex will be completed in 2022. Every year one of the plants will be put into operation. The products will be mainly exported, noted Mr. Sergey Sopin, CEO of Ecotechprom LLC.

Soda, technical salt and glass factory to be built in Armenia

The Armenian government will sign an agreement with a Russian company on constructing soda, technical salt and glass factory, Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said during My Step alliance’s pre-election campaigning in Charentsavan town.

“Today the government will sign an investment agreement with the Russian Ecotechprom which will build an industrial complex. It will have 1200 jobs. The complex will launch in 2022 and will produce soda, technical salt and glass”, Pashinyan said.
