BIRTH RATE IN ARMENIA INCREASES ACCORDING TO A SURVEY
/JULY 15/ARMENPRESS/
The survey was carried out by the Armenian Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
It related to the condition of the family. 2800 families- over 4.2 million members- were studied.
On average, the incomes of the families made 21%, the aid from the relatives made 20%, other financial supports- 9%, other profits- 12%, and the state social welfare made 38%.
One of the main factors, which reflect on the reproductive behavior of the population, is the domestic and life conditions of a family.
Each tenth family, which has under-age children, does not have its own home. 46% does not see the future in Armenia. 57 ones of the families prefer the model of the 3-4 children-families.
According to the authors of the survey, the data are positive. The reproductive behavior of the 68 families, which have negative motivation and have not orientated themselves, is not firm yet.
According to their comments, in case corresponding measures are undertaken by the state, the motivation will become positive. The survey proves that the birth rate may increase in case social projects are implemented and the moral-psychological atmosphere is improved.
’The survey reflects the expectations of the people’, demography requires a lot of money.
The fact that the state grants 430,000 AMD, when the third child of a family is born, promotes the birth rate growth, especially in villages. During these 3 years birth rate growth was registered.
The final presentation of the survey is expected to take place in the near future.
