1 BILLION LOAN WITHIN APPROACHABLE APARTMENTS FOR YOUTHS PROGRAM

Today, a consultation on the "Approachable apartments for youths" state program was held led by the Premier Tigran Sargsyan.
Within the frameworks of the loan, about 100 loans amounting to 1 billion have been allocated, 80 percent of which in Yerevan, the rest in Marzes.
Tigran Sargsyan underlined the low rate of loan using by young families in marzes and instructed the ministry of Finances to present the draft on amendments to the pilot loaning project. The 3 billion planned for the implementation of this program will be realized by the end of this year.
DEVELOPING COMPANIES TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR UNFINISHED CONSTRUCTION

The legislation provides for holding accountable developing companies which fail to complete their projects. Particularly, if the building is not finished within three years, the developing companies are issued warnings two times. If no action is taken the case is taken to court.
The same responsibility measures are applied both to government and private developers.
Foreign businessmen interested in Armenian travertine

This year for the first time Armenia participated in `EXPOStone 2010’ annual international exhibition, leading one in the natural stone processing sphere in Russia, thanks to which a number of cooperation proposals have been received. The exhibition was held June 22-25, in the capital of Russia Moscow. Armenia’s participation in the exhibition was organized by the Armenian Development Agency.
An official from the agency told Armenpress that four Armenian companies participated in the exhibition. A great interest has been displayed over natural stones : a contract on providing 3 600 sq. m of travertine has been signed. Initial arrangements have been reached over the opening of wholesale points in Moscow and other provinces of Russia. According to the arrangement, a representative of the construction company will visit Armenia in August. Few suggestions on cooperation are in the discussion phase.
Fourteen medicine producing companies are operating in Armenia

Fourteen medicine producing companies are operating in Armenia and about 300 medicines of local production have been registered. Still in 2008 only 28 medicines of local production were registered in Armenia.
CEO of the Armenia’s Medicine Producing and Importing Union Samvel Zakaryan said today at a news conference followed after signing Memorandum on Cooperation with the Union of Armenian Employers that producing medicine in the country is of strategic significance.
Medicine producing companies export more than 50% of their products and the rest consume in the local market.
The medicine produced in Armenia is being exported to Russia, Uzbekistan, Georgia, Belarus, Moldova, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan.
Armenian medicine is produced in accordance with those standards, they just do not have certificates. For acquiring them certain steps are being implemented.
The union is also carrying out `Get to Know Medicine Producer’ action as part of which a number of events will be carried out : the goal is to make the public recognize the local medicine.
Memorandum on Cooperation signed in the sphere of pharmaceutics

Director of the Republican Union of Armenian Employers Gagik Makaryan and CEO of the Armenia’s Medicine Producing and Importing Union Samvel Zakaryan signed today Memorandum on Cooperation.
The parties expressed readiness to promote the consolidation and development of social partnership, ensuring equal conditions for companies. The unions are going to conduct trainings, round tables, seminars, consultations, etc.
ArmenAl foil mill increases output by 26 percent in the first six months of the year

The mill produced 9,620 tons of foil in the first six months of 2009 and a total of 21,500 tons of foil last year, by 83.5% more than in 2008.
ArmenAl employs currently 700 people with an average monthly wage of 235,000 Drams, which is by 30% higher than in 2009.
The company has also managed to start production of extra thin foil and installed new equipment.
Spanish Businessmen Received at RA Government

RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received today a business representative delegation, headed by Juan Abelló, chairman of the Spanish `Torreal’ Investing Company.
The visit will promote the development of the bilateral economic relations.
The speakers touched upon the prospects of cooperation in the spheres of drug production, chemical industry, banking system, high technologies, etc. The Spanish `Torreal’ Investment Company, established 1990, is providing support to owners of companies in growth and business expansion processes.
Armenia’s national institute of standards (NIS) elected to International Organization for Standardization ISO council for 2011-2012

The ISO Council for 201-2012 comprises representatives of France, USA, Great Britain, Germany, Japan, China, Russia, Canada. Norway and some other countries.
In terms of Armenia’s participation in international standardization process the most important thing for Armenia is to eliminate obstacles for sale of Armenian goods at global markets. To achieve this Armenia must harmonize its national standards with international ones. The Armenian National Institute of Standards joined ISO in 1997. In 2008 it joined also the European Committee for Standardization.
ACMC CONTINUES INCREASING PRODUCTION OF COPPER-MOLYBDENUM CONCENTRATE

During the first half of 2010, Agarak Copper-Molybdenum Combine CJSC (ACMC) increased the production of copper and molybdenum concentrates by 12.29% and 2.4% respectively as compared with the same period in 2009, bringing the production volumes to 15,159 tons of copper and 254 tons of molybdenum concentrates.
VITEBSK SILK-WEAVING FACTORY LAUNCHES EXPORTS TO ARMENIA

MINSK, 19 July (BelTA) - The Vitebsk Silk-Weaving Factory has started delivering fabrics to Armenia, BelTA learned from the company.
In June and July, the Vitebsk factory shipped the first consignments of lining fabric to Armenia. This fabric will be used there to produce uniform for law-enforcement bodies. At present, the factory is discussing possible supplies to Turkmenistan. A trial consignment of the Vitebsk-produced fabric is expected to be shipped to Turkmenistan in August this year.
CABLE TENDER ANNOUNCED

The 18 television companies to receive airtime for the next 10 years will be announced on December 16.
The National Commission on Television and Radio announced today a cable tender and presented the order for holding the contest.
Applicants must submit their applications from October 10 to 20.
